How to play

Let's Get Drunk is a free drinking card game for 2 to 12 players, played on one phone. No download, no sign-up: open the site, add everyone, and pass the phone around.

Setting up

  1. Pick a mode.
  2. Add everyone in the order you're sitting. Turns go down the list, so the phone travels around the table.
  3. Pick a round length. Everyone always gets the same number of turns.
  4. If you like, turn on themed packs.
  5. Tap Shuffle and start.

Taking a turn

The phone goes to whoever is up. Tap the card to spin it, read it out loud, then do what it says or take the sips. Press Done, or swipe the card away, to pass the phone to the next player.

Not for you? Skip swaps it for another card of the same kind. Finished one by mistake? The undo button brings it back until the next card is spun. Cards with a time limit have a timer in the corner: tap it to start.

The cards

  • Your move. A task for whoever is up: do it, or take the sips it names.
  • Head to head. You against another player, picked at random. The loser sips.
  • Everyone. The whole group plays at once.
  • New rule. A rule that stays in play for the rest of the round, pinned at the top of the screen. Break it and sip.
  • Never have I ever. Everyone plays. If you have done it, take a sip.
  • Truth or dare. Pick truth or dare before you see it. Refuse and take 3 sips.

Modes

  • Chill (281 cards). Easy-going cards, fewer sips. Good for new friends.
  • Party (390 cards). The classic mix of dares, duels and rules.
  • Spicy (290 cards). Flirty truths, bold dares, more sips.
  • Couples (250 cards). Just the two of you. For exactly 2 players.

Cards don't repeat between rounds until you've been through the whole mode.

Round length

Short is about 25 cards, Normal is about 45 cards, Long is about 70 cards, adjusted so everyone gets the same number of turns. At a minute a card, a normal round is about 45 minutes.

No alcohol

Turn on No alcohol and every sip becomes a point. Tap a player's name to give them one; the fewest points at the end wins. Cards that only work with a drink in hand are left out.

Themed packs

Packs mix themed cards into any mode, in place of up to 30% of the round. Turn on as many as you like and they share that space.

  • Desi (114 cards). Hinglish: filmi, shaadi, chai, cricket.
  • Birthday (105 cards). All about the birthday person.
  • Office (110 cards). Work-safe fun for colleagues.
  • Bachelor(ette) (102 cards). The last night out before the wedding.

Birthday and Bachelor(ette) ask who the guest of honour is. Cards about them always go to someone else, and they often get to decide who sips.

House cards

Write your own cards for inside jokes, birthdays or anything else. Use @me for whoever draws the card and @someone for a random other player. They're mixed into the round, and you can share them with a link.

After the round

You get a recap with the most daring, most honest and best dodger, plus the rules you made. Share it as an image to the group chat.
